The monument commemorates those from Milang who died in service or were killed in action in World War One.

One of the largest and most representative crowds gathered at Milang for many years assembled there on Sunday afternoon last to witness the unveiling of the Soldiers' Memorial just erected on the Reserve close to the Institute. The form of the Memorial is a tapered cone on a stepped base, worked out in two-tinted marbles, with a tablet extension on which is inscribed the names of the boys of the district who fell in the war.

The erection is of graceful character, and reflects credit on the designer and builder Mr. A. W. Stewart, of Torrensville, the cost being a little under £l50.
