Yendon Avenue of HonourPrint Page
Yendon Avenue of Honour commemorates those from the district who lost their lives in World War One.
The Yendon Avenue of Honour is to undergo a restoration with help from the Yendon History Group and the Moorabool Shire Council. Currently there are nine oak trees that line the avenue to commemorate soldiers from Yendon who were killed in action during World War One. Kay Paton from the Yendon History Group believes more trees used to stand along the avenue in honour of 16 fallen soldiers. Ms Paton plans to plant seven oak trees alongside the existing trees and fix plaques with the soldiers' names. The avenue is expected to be fully refurbished by the start of 2015.
