Left Side Inscription

"When King and Country called the call was not in vain."

Returned to enjoy the freedom won

"Ours is to guard the heritage they gave us
And make our nation worthy of our dead."

Erected in memory of the fallen soldiers of the District and in honour of their comraddes who also served in the Great War
