The Soldiers Memorial commemorates those from the district who served in World War One. It is a sandstone obelisk with white marble plaques inset into each face. The obelisk is set on a sandstone platform with a tiled surround. Sandstone steps lead down to the foot path. A white marble soldier stand on top of the obelisk.

A handsome monument, to the memory of soldiers who enlisted from the town and district was unveiled last Saturday in the presence of a large crowd of people. On the front panel are the names of some sixty soldiers who paid the supreme sacrifice. On the other three panels are the names of others soldiers and the year of enlistment of each. The total number of names inscribed is 291. The memorial was designed by Messrs Meldrum and Markey, who were also the contractors. The formal unveiling was performed by Councillor J Johnston, of the Lake Macquarie Shire Council, who paid a handsome tribute to the worth of the Australian soldier.
