Christ Church Roll of HonourPrint Page Print this page

An honour roll commemorates those from the church who enlisted in World War One. The roll was unveiled in 1916.

Christ Church was packed with an immense congregation on Sunday night last, on the occasion of the unveiling of the honour roll. After the offertory hymn, Mr. W.. E. Oldfield, himself a liberal subscriber, presented the brass lectern, which was duly dedicated, and Mrs. John Mayo then unveiled the honour roll, which had previously been covered with the Australian flag. The roll bears 40 names, and is not yet complete.
