Koorlong Roll of Honour Print Page
The Koorlong Roll of Honour, presented by Councillor Gooch, commemorates those from the district who enlisted in World War One.
At the council meeting on Wednesday afternoon last, Cr. T. W. Gooch, presented to the Shire, as custodians for the people of Koorlong, a very handsome blackwood Honor Roll, the names of seventeen young men who have volunteered, and of whom some have made the supreme sacrifice. As the Roll states, Cr. Gooch presents it to mark his appreciation of the courage and self sacrifice which led these district young men to place their lives on the altar of their country. The Honor Roll was accepted by the Shire President, as a trust for the people of Koorlong, and complimentary reference was made to Cr. Gooch's spirit of appreciation which led him to have the Honor Roll prepared. Arrangements are being made to unveil the Honor Roll at Koorlong Hall on Monday afternoon next at 3 o'clock and the public are cordially invited to be present at the ceremony, which will be undertaken by the Shire President, Cr. E. T. Henderson.
