The South West Rocks War Memorial commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

It consists of a grey granite obelisk surrounded by grass and bordered by a low, granite block wall. A Remembrance Wall was added as part of the ANZAC Centenary Grants Program and contains plaques of individual service personnel.

The obelisk was originally erected to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. The names of those who died in service or were killed in action during World War Two were added to the memorial at a later date.

Several bronze plaques have been added to the site. They include:

  • Six plaques dedicated to Australians who have served in the Boer War, Boxer Rebellion, Korean War, Malayan Emergency, Indonesian (Borneo) Confrontation, Vietnam War
  • One plaque dedicated to Australians who have served in peacekeeping missions since 1947.
  • A plaque for those who were held as prisoners of war.
  • Ten plaques to individual veterans who received the Victoria Cross for their service in the Second World War, dedicated as part of the Australia Remembers campaign in 1995.
