       This Obelisk Perpetuates
The Memory Of The Pioneers
Of The Halls Creek District
                — And —
Is Also In Honour And Memory Of
All Those Who Have Served Their Country And
In Particular Those Who Have Made The Supreme
Sacrifice In The Conflicts In Which The Forces
Of Australia Have Been Engaged.  

Lives Of Great Men All Remind Us We Can Make Our Lives Sublime
And Departing Leave Behind Us Footprints In The Sand Of Time.  

     This Memorial Was Unveiled By
             Mr R. Shaw Moody,
Chairman Of The Halls Creek Road Board
              — 15th April 1961 —
