The garden commemorates nurses who served in the South African (Boer) War, World War One and subsequent conflicts. The garden was planned in 1935 and officially dedicated in 1937.
Arrangements are now completed for the unveiling ceremony at the Memorial Gardens in Lower Stirling Terrace, on Sunday next at 3 p.m. It is unfortunate that the President of the Nurses' Sub-Branch (Miss Homan) will be unable to be present. She has requested that an Albany Nurse deputise for her. Mrs. A. E. White will perform the ceremony.
