Plaque 1:

34,737 Aust. Servicemen
and Women have been
made prisoners of war from the
Boer War, WW1, WW2 and Korea.  
(There were no POW`s taken in Vietnam.)  
8,600 died in captivity

Plaque 2:

This Memorial is dedicated to the memory of all the
Australian Servicemen and Women who suffered
and died as Prisoners of War.  
Their motto :- When you go home, tell them of us and say,
that we gave our today for your tomorrow.

Plaque 3:

38 Portland and District
Servicemen were
taken Prisoners of War.  
17 of whom died in captivity -
never to see home again.
