Mathoura War Memorial was originally erected by residnets of the district in memory of those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. A portion of the memorial was dedicated at a later date in memory of the fallen of World War Two. Additional plaques have been added to the memorial to commemorate specific anniversaries of these conflicts.
