The Processional Cross commemorates the Right Reverend Frederick Goldsmith, Dean of Perth from 1886 to 1904 and Bishop of Bunbury from 1904 to 1917.
The Right Reverend Frederick Goldsmith, DD was the inaugural Bishop of Bunbury from 1904 to 1917. He was Dean of Perth, Western Australia from 1888 until 1904 when he was elevated to the Episcopate. Resigning in 1917 he was Rural Dean of Hampstead until his retirement in 1921. He died on 7 July 1932.
The description in Cathedral archives reads: “Dean’s cross: heavy sterling silver processional bottonee cross; jarrah pole with three lobed knots of silver at intervals; bas relief decoration of grape and vines on front of cross."
