The plaque commemorates Benjamin Jacobs who died in 1946. Mr Jacobs was the Church Warden for 45 years as well as being a Sunday School teacher and a member of the church choir. 

At St Luke`s Church Richmond, a tablet in memory of the late Mr. Benjamin William Henry (Harry) Jacobs, who had been rector's churchwarden for 45 years, Sunday school teacher and choir member, was unveiled and dedicated by the Ven. W.R Barrett, Archdeacon of Hobart. The rector (Rev. F. A.Carr) conducted the service. The late Mr. Jacobs was well known in the north.
