The plaque commemorates former North Sydney alderman and Mayor, Henry Green who died in 1925.
Henry Green was a local builder who came originally from Warwickshire, England. He came to live in North Sydney and started to buy land and built houses. He is reported to have built over 300 houses in the area. Green became an Alderman on North Sydney Council from 1896-1925 and was elected Mayor in 1922.
