The Brookes Memorial Park commemorates Arthur Henry Brookes who was a Maroochy Shire Councillor from 1904 to 1931.

The memorial erected in Coronation Avenue, Nambour in 1927 was designed by Arthur Henry Brookes.  He also maintained the Nambour Memorial Park and cenotaph for many years.

At a public meeting of Nambour residents convened by the Maroochy Shire council, it was decided to create a park along the Bruce Highway adjoining the Nambour High and Rural Schools as a memorial to the late Mr. A. Brookes, who did much to beautify the town's parks and streets.
