The plaque was erected in memory of Bernie Savage, a well-known local and former captain of the Jimboomba and Greenbank fire stations, who died in 2020. Bernie Savage was a local fire-fighting legend with both the Jimboomba Fire Station and in retirement with the Greenbank Rural Fire Brigade.
 

A plaque for Bernie Savage was unveiled at Rotary Park, Jimboomba. Family and friends of Jimboomba firefighting legend Bernie Savage gathered to unveil his memorial plaque at Rotary Park in a permanent monument for the town to pay tribute to him. Mr Savage, a well-known local and former captain of the Jimboomba and Greenbank fire stations, died in September 2020.
