This bridge is named in honour of Jim Somerville and his and his passion for the local environment.
Jim was highly influential in making the completion of the trail possible, by lobbying and ultimately securing an agreement with the Minister for Sport to cross Middle Creek.
He was a strong advocate for the protection of Narrabeen Lagoon and worked tirelessly to link people and ideas for the benefit of the broader community.
