The plaque and Warren Library commemorate Janet Henderson Warren who was one of the founders of the Port Noarlunga Institute and its secretary for 26 years. She was a member of the Port Noarlunga Vigilance Committee formed in 1914, a trustee and secretary to the Institute and Library Committee formed in November 1914, and librarian. She died in 1942. The library was then renamed the Warren Library in her honour and remained operating until 1984.
Miss J. H. Warren, who died recently, was one of the founders of the Port Noarlunga institute, and held the position of secretary and librarian for 26 years. She resigned the position two years ago on account of ill-health.
