The bell commemorates Nancy Douglas Moffatt who was the Head Prefect and Dux of the school in 1942. She died in December 1942.
ADELAIDE, Thursday.— There was a tragic note at the St. Peter, 's Collegiate Girls' School annual speech ceremony today when the Bishop of Adelaide announced that the dux of the school and head prefect, Nancy Moffatt had died the previous afternoon from appendicitis. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Moffatt, of Belair, and was in her seventeenth year.
