The brass tablet was erected in memory of William Reginald Hayman for his service to the Balmoral community. Mr Hayman died in 1899.
He was the promoter of the church, Shire President on three occasions, and founder of the local P and A Society.
Monday. Next Thursday evening the brass tablet in memory of the late Mr. W. R. Hayman is to be unveiled in St. Mary's Church, the Revs. Kirkland and Carr officiating on the occasion. The Rev. John Kirkland spent many years among us in Mr. Hayman`s time, and with that gentleman was the main worker in the building of the church, and it will afford his old friends much pleasure to see him again after many years. The ceremony of unveiling the brass tablet and the evening service will start at 7.30. Those desirous of securing a seat would do well to be in time, as it is expected quite a crowded congregation will be present.
