The monument commemorates 36 years of Vietnamese migration to Australia.
The rectangular monument commemorates four significant aspects of Vietnamese history : the first king of Vietnam and ancestors, the Australian servicemen who sacrificed their lives during the Vietnam War, members of the Republic of Vietnam who fought and sacrificed their lives and Vietnamese refugees who lost their lives in the search for freedom.
