This plaque is dedicated on 8th June 1999, to the pioneer women of the Watsonville Irvinebank area.

Tin was discovered in Watsonville in 1880, but there was no reliable water supply.

This Star Windmill was manufactured by Flint & Walling Manufacturing Co of Kendallville, Indiana USA prior to 1915.

Originally erected in front of the Irvinebank Post Office, this windmill was shifted to Watsonville around 1930.

The following contributed to the restoration of the windmill.
