The plaque commemorates the establishment of the Good Neigbour Garden by the residents of the City of Brighton and old and new citizens associated with the Good Neighbour Council of South Australia.
The Good Neighbour Council met boats, aeroplanes and trains bringing immigrants to South Australia, helping them to settle there.
