INTERNATIONAL WORKERS MEMORIAL DAY
      Held April 28 each year

International Workers Memorial Day (IWMD) is a day that unions, workers and their families and communities and communities around the world join together to remember and mourn for those who have been killed or injured at work, and to fight for the living.

Kogarah Council dedicates this memorial space to the more than 2 million workers who die, the more tha 1.2 million who are injured and the more than 160 million who fall ill each year worldwide from unsafe, unhealthy or unsuitable or unsustainable working practices.

One of the most important ways we can work to reduce workplace accidents is to draw attention to them.

This memorial was unveiled April 28, 2009
