Cooma Sporting AchieversPrint Page
The Apex Park monument was unveiled in 2010 to commemorate the sporting achievements of athletes from the Snowy-Monaro region. The monument was intended to be retrospective and also have room for the names of future sporting greats.
At the unveiling, the Cooma-Monaro Shire Council General Manager John Vucic said that he was proud of the 2010 winter Olympians hailing from the area, but it was important to honour past, present and future athletes. The plaque at Apex Park was affixed to a boulder donated by Coolringdon Pastoral Company.
Note: As at May 2015, only the original plaque unveiled in 2010 is affixed to the boulder.
