Pleystowe Memorial Trees (New) Print Page
Pleystowe Memorial Trees commemorate ten World War Two servicemen from the area who lost their lives in World War Two. The plaques containing the names of the servicemen have been attached to the trees .
The trees have been grafted and cloned from the original Pleystowe Memorial trees on the Peak Downs Highway. One of the original trees at Pleystowe was found seriously affected by root fungus and was removed to stop the fungus spreading to the other trees. The original trees will eventually be cut down at the end of their lives. The trees are now part of a memorial drive to Greenmount Homestead.
