Flaxley Honour RollPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those from the District who served in World War Two.
Flaxley turned out en masse to a final welcome home of ex-service personnel who had enlisted from the district, on Saturday night, 7th inst. Mr. A. W. Cobbledick presided and introduced various speakers who expressed gratitude of the part played in the winning of the war by the Services. Interspersed with the speeches were items by artists from Echunga and Macclesfield.
After the interval an honor roll, inscribed with names of twenty-five men and women who had enlisted from Flaxley district, was unveiled by the Rev. W. Glen Clarke. Responding, three ex servicemen thanked the people of Flaxley, of Macclesfield, and the various women's organisations, for their support during and after the war. Supper brought a pleasant evening to a close.
