Compton School Honour RollPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates former students from the school who enlisted in World War Two.
Compton School, believed to be the oldest in the South-East is celebrating its 90th birthday this week. It is 15 years older than the Mount Gambier Primary School. The celebrations will end with a picnic at the Woolwash today for school children and old scholars. Last Saturday 180 old scholars signed an attendance roll at a back to school. Mr. John Fletcher M.P., a former resident of Compton, and member of the school committee for some years, unveiled an honour roll to old scholars who enlisted in World War 2. The honour roll bears 71 names of ex-servicemen and women.
