The swimming pool commemorates those who served in World War Two.
The War Memorial Swimming Pool was officially opened by the chairman, Councillor J Blitz on the Australia Day holiday, January 31st, 1955. The council fixed charges for the pool was 1/6d for adults and sixpence for children.
