The honour roll commemorates former students of the school who served in World War Two. It contains 647 names.
A roll of honour for former pupils of the Hutchins School who served in the Second World War was unveiled at the school yesterday. The ceremony was performed in the school assembly hall by the Chief Justice (Sir John Morris) in the absence of the Governor (Sir Hugh Binney) who is ill. The roll of honour will be placed in the school library alongside the First World War honour roll. The Bishop of Tasmania (the Rt. Rev. G. F. Cranswick) dedicated the roll of honour. The president of the Old Boys' Association (Mr. A. B. White) read the names of the men who died in the Second World War.
