Black Springs Honour RollPrint Page 
The honour roll commemorates those from the Black Springs District who served in World War Two.
The Black Springs Hall was decorated attractively with flowers and flags on Friday evening when the ceremony of unveiling the first Honor Roll in this district took place. There was a good attendance of Returned Personnel who were accompanied by their parents and friends. The evening began with the singing of the National Anthem which was followed with a song by Mr. Guy Dollman entitled 'Deathless Army.' This song proved to be most popular. Mr Dollman was accompanied at the piano by Mrs H. White.
The Mayor of Burra. Mr H. J. B. Jennison then thanked the people of Black Springs for giving him this opportunity of expressing his deep and profound appreciation to those young men whose names appeared on the Honor Roll and also to pay homage to those who had made the supreme sacrifice. He said that there were 24 men who had enlisted from Black Springs. At the call of King and Country these men gave up their civil occupation and donned the uniform of fighting men.
