Cairns Aviation Skill Centre War MemorialPrint Page
A propeller blade placed outside the Cairns Aviation Skills Centre (CASC) commemorates the Allied Air Forces of World War Two. The memorial was unveiled by Federal Member for Leichhardt Warren Enstch on the 24th April 2015.

The historic aircraft took off from Port Moresby on Sept 20, 1943, but ran out of fuel and crashed. There were no casualties. Some 50 years later the wreckage was recovered and donated to CASC by Aero Enterprise Australia.
