The Hills Weeping fig was dedicated in 1997 to commemorate the contribution of the men and women of the City of Rockdale during World War Two. The tree was planted as part of the Australia Remembers Program.
"Australia Remembers, 1945-1995" was a program of activities organised by the Federal Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
