The park commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The land for the park was donated by Mrs. E. Brown in memory of her nephew who died as a prisoner of war during World War Two.

Eldest son of Mr & Mrs H. E. Hobbs of Cattai who died 3rd November 1943 whilst Prisoner of War in Burma
