The memorial stone commemorates the citizens of Gympie and Widgee Shire who have served in military campaigns in Korea, Malaya/Malaysia, Borneo and Vietnam.

The memorial was refurbished by the Gympie Vietnam Veterans with the addition of a circular wall and plaques on the 11th November 2006.

Front Inscription

The citizens of the City of Gympie and Widgee Shire pay tribute to those men and women who fought and suffered and to those who paid the supreme sacrifice in the following campaigns. 

Korea  Aug. 1950 - July 1953
Malaya June 1948 - July 1960
Borneo Feb 1964 - Aug.1966
Vietnam July 1962 - Jan 1973

We will remember them.
