The extensions to the Victoria Hall in Kempton were added to commemorate those who served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved.  It is now known as Victoria Memorial Hall.

A committee of three councillors and the Council Clerk (Mr R. C. Raymond) was appointed to discuss with representatives of the Kempton War Memorial Committee plans for a municipal memorial at Kempton. It was stated that at a public meeting at Kempton some-time ago it was agreed some form of community centre, to include better hall facilities and a library, should form the memorial, but no finality was reached.

Revised plans plans for extensions to the Victoria Hall at Kempton as a war memorial were tabled at Green Ponds Council meeting yesterday. The plans provide for a new supper room, a library, surgery, and kitchen. The Warden (Mr. B. H. Bisdee) said fresh tenders had been invited for the work and the architects had asked previous tenderers to submit a new price. It was reported that the memorial hall account was £1,583 in credit.
