The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

At a meeting of resdents of Kulpara, it was decided to make preliminary enquiries and arrangements to build a Memorial Hall on a suitable site on the Kulpara recreation grounds. The hall would be 100 x 35 feet and would include the necessary kitchen and other conveniences of the hall. The expect to raise £3000 for the building, and the proceeds of the sale of material from the old hall when demolished would go towards the fund. The present hall is in a state of delapidation.

New Kulpara Hall Opened. 
By Sir Robert Nicholls on Wednesday week last. £72 taken at door. Over 400 present. The material for the whole structure cost £2,500 and the work in erecting it is estimated to cost the same figure, all done by voluntary labour. The whole structure was built by local farmers with the exception of the floor and the committee had much pleasure in being able to hand the building over to the District Council of Bute free of any debt.

After the opening Sir Robert announced the first dance for the evening—the "King's Waltz" and the evening went merrily on till the early hours of the morning to the excellent music of the Port Wakefield Orchestra.
