Karoonda & District Soldiers Memorial HospitalPrint Page
The hospital was erected to commemorate those from the district who served in World Wars One and Two.
At the official opening of the Karoonda and District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital last week the chairman (Mr. Petras) said less than two years ago the board took up what looked a very difficult task. He paid tributes to the board, the women's auxiliaries at Karoonda and outlying districts, Mr. Bernardi, who carted and laid rubble free of cost, the local RSL sub-branch, which raised £130, and the State Government for a subsidy of £1,000.
