Glenburnie Memorial HallPrint Page
The hall commemorates those who served in World War One and World War Two.
In the last couple of years, many country communities in and around Mount Gambier have been giving greater attention and devoting extra efforts to obtaining their own halls for community activity. The Treasurer of the Glenburnie Memorial Hall Committee (Mr. A. W. Creed) reported yesterday that the people of his district were intensifying their efforts to build their own hall. It will be a memorial of World Wars I and II. The Committee was first formed in 1932 and a block of land was purchased about that time. This property is adjacent to the tennis courts and the store.
Sufficient material and cash were on hand to make a start on the project, said Mr. Creed; plans were already drawn up and it was hoped that work would commence before the end of the year.
