The gates commemorate those from the District who served in World War One and World War Two.

On the great day of National Remembrance-Anzac Day—Frances C.W.A. saw its long-cherished plans for the erection and opening of its Soldiers' Memorial Gates fulfilled. There was a large assembly of people to witness the ceremony of the opening of the gates. The C.W.A. State President, Mrs. C. M. Octoman, of Tumby Bay, came down from Adelaide specially to perform the opening ceremony. She was the guest of Mrs. P. A. Learmonth, of "Boorala," Frances.

The inscription plaque (the gift of (Mrs. W. N. Bainger) on the gates reads:—"Erected by Frances C.W.A. in memory of Frances district residents who served in World Wars I and II."
