Commemorating the 43rd and 2 / 43rd Infantry Battalions, AIF
Their Colours with battle honours emblazoned were laid up in this Cathedral on the 13th December 1984 honouring the memory of 608 officers and men killed and the 1,937 wounded in two World Wars.
On the 10th June, 1995, these colours after conservation were re-dedicated to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the landing of the 2 / 43rd Battalion on Labuan Island, North Borneo on the 10 June, 1945.
