The wooden honour roll commemorates those who served in World War One. The name of a soldier who was killed in action in World War Two was added to the roll at a later date. 

Last Friday, July 10th, the Hon. S. Barnes, Minister for Railways, unveiled two Honor Boards, one in the State School and the other, in the Mechanic Hall. At the Mechanics`Hall, Mr Ellismith, as Chairman of the Honor Board Committee, requested Mr Barnes to unveil the Board, which had been placed there in honor of the men who had gone overseas from the township. Mr Barnes, in doing so, expressed his great esteem for what Toongabbie had done during the war, not only in sending all her available young manhood, but in Red Cross and other activities, and now they had crowned their work by setting up the two handsome memorials which he had unveiled that afternoon.

Also, he had been permitted to see the beautiful honor roll which they had placed in their church, He congratulated the residents most heartily. Mr Ellismith moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Barnes and Mr Batheras for their attendance, which was enthusiastically carried. After a vote of thanks to the Chairman the proceedings ended.
