The monument commemorates those from the Shire of Oxley who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
It was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One. The names of those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two were added at a later date.
An additional plaque was unveiled on 11th of November 2017 to commemorate those who served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, the conflicts in Iraq and Afganistan, and the peacekeeping operation in East Timor.
