Walbundrie Memorial HallPrint Page
The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
Unofficial advices indicate that the campaign for a permit to build a new Memorial Hall at Walbundrie to replace the present dangerous white-ant eaten structure, has ended successfully. The committee enlisted the services of Mr. E. T. Kendell, M.L.A., who made the initial moves. The F.S.A. was also contacted, and since June last the general secretary (Mr. T. J. McDougall) has personally contacted the Minister for Building Materials (Mr. W. E. Dickson) and prominent officials, with the result that this week a favorable decision was reached. This will be communicated officially in due course. Expressing pleasure at the result yesterday, Mr. McDougall said the resources of the Association were at all times at the service of any section of the rural community seeking amenities of any description. That, in fact, was one of the main functions of the Executive.
