The Soldiers Memorial commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. It was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One and was unveiled in April 1922 by Major General Sir Charles Rosenthal.
Yesterday afternoon the fine soldiers memorial at Auburn was unveiled, in the presence of a large gathering. The ceremony was by Major-General Sir Chas. Rosenthal, who was received by a guard of honour under Colonel Perry, M.C., D.S.O. The memorial consists of a freestone pedestal, with marble slabs inlet, the large one in the front containing the names of 123 fallen soldiers.
