The monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.  It consists of an ornamental fence with brick pillars and a path leading to the Kalapa Hall.

The Kalapa public hall committee at its monthly meeting decided to accept with thanks the donation of Mr J. G. O'Shanesy of the required number of bricks for brick pillars and path leading to the hall as part of the Kalapa War Memorial, which will take the form of ornamental brick fence at the frontage of the building, with suitable plaque inserted in one of the main pillars. The committee also decided to floor the supper room 48 ft x 25 ft with bricks, with excavations of five inches. This to be done by a working bee comprising members of the committee, tennis club and other residents interested in public affairs of the district. The whole of the improvements are to be carried out before the annual festivities.
