Darawank War Memorial Park Print Page Print this page

The memorial park is dedicated to those who served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

Chances are many drivers pass the Darawank War Memorial Park on The Lakes Way not realising its significance.

Stretching along the Wallamba River the four acre park began life back in 1975 as a bush patch and an unused strip of bitumen which was once the Lakes Way.  Twenty years later the park was dedicated to the thousands of men and women who served Australia during the many conflicts by former local MP Mark Vaile.

Over the years a group of dedicated volunteers have developed the area into beautifully maintained parkland complete with parking area and jetty and covered picnic tables.
