Gladstone Memorial Swimming PoolPrint Page
The swimming pool commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
At a largely attended meeting at Gladstone, presided over by Mr. K. L. Blesing, it was decided to go ahead with plans for a war memorial for the town and district. Five projects were put to the meeting, and the following amenities were selected by a large majority:— Beautification of Tresylva Park under direction of a competent landscape gardener, incorporating gardens, swimming pool, memorial main gates, and tennis courts. The meeting was enthusiastic, and many promises of practical help were made by residents. The committee will meet at the coming weekend to formulate a programme of ways and means.
