The War Memorial commemorates those from the Hallidays Point area who served in conflicts in which Australia been involved.

Funding was received by the Hallidays Point Lions Club through the "Saluting Their Service" program to replace the original memorial at the Black Head Bowling Club which was removed in 2016 after a 3 year old child was killed when the memorial collapsed.

The Hallidays Point community will soon welcome a new war memorial.  Hallidays Point Lions Club has received Federal government funding to build it next to the flagpole at the Black Head Ocean Baths. Funds from the club will also be used.

Hallidays Point Lions Club president, Noel McManus said the community had expressed a need for a new memorial for some time. "It's a physical place to reflect on the people who served for our country," Mr McManus said. "It's a lovely spot to have it near the baths."

MidCoast Council granted the Lions Club permission for the memorial to be built as the ocean baths area is council land.  Work is being carried out in three stages, kerb construction, foundations and installation of the monument. There has been a delay however in getting the stone for the site. "It's been an unfortunate delay and I'm not sure when it will arrive," Mr McManus said. Previously, Anzac Day services have been held at this site.

The community has gone without a memorial for more than three years after the former stone monument was involved in a tragic circumstance. In 2016, three-year- old Indy Henderson was crushed by the monument at Black Head Bowling Club.
