Moonta Area School Memorial Trail

This Memorial Trail is a timeline spanning one hundred years commemorating the conflicts Australia served in during the Twentieth Century.    The trail is approximately 275 metres in total and each wall is made from copper stone kindly donated from the Poona Mines North Yelta.  Each information sign is a brief history of Australia`s involvement in these conflicts.

The roll of honour represents men and women born in Moonta who served in our forces.

The plasma cut image on each wall reflects scenes from the period, and left to age and mellow naturally over time like our memories.  Scan the QR codes with your mobile device and you will experience a multi-media presentation of iconic music and images of the era.

Dedicated to the men and women of Moonta who served Australia in times of war.  For their service and sacrifice we are eternally grateful.

Lest we forget

We would like to acknowledge the following individuals, community organisations and local business for their generous support in the construction of the Gallipoli Wall and Memorial Trail - without whose assistance this project would not have been possible.
